Bedding

  • Sleeping bag and/or sheets and blankets for your bed.
  • Important : Because of the cold weather in winter, bring adequate bedding
  • A pillow cover


Meditation cushions

Anyone who desires can bring a meditation cushion. If not, we can offer you one.

Students should also bring a shawl or extra blanket to use in the meditation hall in addition to sleeping blankets. It may be quite chilly in the early morning.

Clothing

  • Warm sweater
  • Warm pants
  • Warm socks and cap
  • Raincoat and umbrella
  • Boots, clogs or slip-on shoes
  • Bath slippers
  • Bring warm clothes as well as modest, lightweight shirts to use during the day.

Clothing should be comfortable, conservative and modest, as indicated in the Code of Discipline *. ( Dress should be simple, modest, and comfortable. Tight, transparent, revealing, or otherwise striking clothing (such as shorts, short skirts, tights and leggings, sleeveless or skimpy tops) should not be worn. Sunbathing and partial nudity are not permitted. This is important in order to minimize distraction to others. )

Bring enough clothing for the entire ten-day course. Laundry facilities are not available.

Toiletries

  • Personal toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush, sanitary napkins and a bag to carry your things.
  • Bath towels
  • Flashlight


SPECIAL NOTE: Snack items, candy, chewing gum and personal foods of any kind are not allowed.
